2023 Toyota Corolla Gets AWD, More Power, More Hybrid Trims
For those of you waiting for a Toyota Corolla AWD – well, it’s finally here. Also new for the 2023 Toyota Corolla is that the gasoline engine gets more power and you have new hybrid trims. Now, AWD is only available on the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid. The gasoline-powered 2023 Corolla swaps out the 139-hp 1.8-liter engine for a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force 4-cylinder making 169-hp. Now did Toyota do enough to update the Corolla to compete strongly against the new Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra?
Well, not really. Besides everything I just mentioned, the other changes are minor. The Toyota Corolla Hatchback and Corolla Sedan do see a minor facelift redesign but it’ll be really hard to tell if you spotted them on the road. The 2023 Toyota Corolla interior is virtually the same. No major redesign has taken place there. The only major addition to the inside is the addition of an 8-inch touchscreen display that houses Toyota’s new infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Beyond that – it’s pretty much the same. Let’s take a closer look!
