The all-new Lexus NX is the Japanese brand’s take on a luxury midsize SUV, rivalling models like the BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes GLC. While this second-generation model looks similar to the old car, it’s been given a significant makeover inside with a larger infotainment screen and even more luxurious materials. It’s all changed under the bonnet too, with a regular hybrid available alongside a new plug-in model that can manage 40 miles of pure-electric running and over 300mpg. So, the NX now has the technology, luxury and powertrains to compete, but is it enough to justify picking one over its luxury rivals? Nicola puts it to the test to deliver the full verdict.
