Plug-in hybrid electric SUV tested – 2022 Lexus NX 450h+ review (F Sport PHEV)
This is the first ever plug-in hybrid SUV sold by Lexus in Australia, and it comes in the form of the new-generation Lexus NX 2022 model.
This version is the top-of-the-range NX 450h+ F Sport model, which combines a petrol engine and battery pack with electric motors at each axle, and the option to plug in the car to recharge the batteries, or use the engine to top them up on the run. And with more than 80km of claimed electric driving range, this PHEV is one of the leaders in its segment.
The practicality of a PHEV like this is going to depend on your life and your circumstances, but for the right buyer, the all-new Lexus NX 450h+ PHEV 2022 model is going to be the right car.
But perhaps the bigger question is whether you should pick this one over the brand’s renowned 350h hybrid variant or not – is it worth the $12,000 price premium, like for like?
