2025 Honda Prelude – Full Acceleration Test & Launch Mode (Japan-Spec Review)

The Honda Prelude returns for 2025 — a long-awaited revival of a classic JDM nameplate.
But this time, it comes as a hybrid GT rather than a pure sports coupe.

In this video, we test the full-throttle acceleration of the Japan-spec model.
We also demonstrate the rumored hidden “launch mode”, an unofficial setting that noticeably changes how the car takes off. Even though Honda doesn’t mention it anywhere, the acceleration behavior with the mode ON vs OFF is surprisingly different.

In Japan, the new Prelude is positioned as a premium coupe, even if its actual equipment differs from region to region.
However, for a car in this class, some choices may surprise enthusiasts:
