The Land Cruiser (hereafter referred to as the Land Cruiser) was born in 1951 as the Toyota BJ model, and shortly thereafter became the first automobile to successfully climb the 6th station of Mount Fuji. Since then, it has been tasked with providing safety and security to a wide range of people in places that only this vehicle can reach. Since then, it has been nurtured and refined by customers around the world, continuing to inherit and evolve its reliability, durability, and off-road performance as a “car that can go anywhere and come back alive,” and to date, a total of 12.15 million Land Cruisers *1 have supported people’s lives and livelihoods in over 190 countries and regions. This is Toyota’s signature model, nurtured and refined by customers around the world for over 70 years.
The Land Cruiser has been developed in three series: the station wagon (“300” series), which has always introduced the latest technology and evolved as a flagship; the heavy-duty model (“70” series), which serves as a workhorse with high durability and maintainability; and the core model (“250” series), which was launched in 2024 and returns to its roots of pursuing simplicity and robustness and supporting the lives and practicality of customers.
Now, by adding the Land Cruiser “FJ” *2 to the series and returning to its roots with the “250” series, we have realized our desire to “make the Land Cruiser enjoyable for even more customers.” In addition to the reliability, durability, and off-road performance that support people’s lives, we will provide new value in the form of “Freedom & Joy,” which allows you to enjoy the car in your own way.
The Land Cruiser will continue to evolve to meet various social demands, support the lives of customers around the world, and remain a trusted vehicle.
Toyota will exhibit at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, which will be held from Thursday, October 30th to Sunday, November 9th *3 , and will unveil the Land Cruiser “FJ.”
