Volkswagen Golf GTI India || Polo Replacement
Volkswagen is all set to launch the performance-oriented Golf GTI in India on May 26. This model, known as the Golf GTI Mk 8.5, is a facelift of the eighth-generation GTI and will be brought in as a fully imported unit. Priced around ₹60 lakh (on-road), it will be the most expensive Volkswagen in India, even more than the Tiguan R Line. The first batch of 150 units has already been booked, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in June through select dealerships. The Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Exterior highlights include Matrix LED headlights, an illuminated VW logo, red GTI badges, 18-inch alloy wheels, and twin chrome exhaust tips. Inside, it features a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and tartan seat upholstery with red accents. The car will be available in four colour options: Kings Red, Grenadilla Black, Oryx White, and Moonstone Grey.
