New 2024 Subaru Levorg Layback off-roader station wagon
Subaru has unveiled the Levorg Layback in Japan. The new model features crossover-like styling and slots in between the Crosstrek and Legacy Outback in the Japanese car makers line-up.
In terms of dimensions, the Levorg Layback ‘s body size will be 4,770 mm long, 1,820 mm wide, 1,570 mm tall, which will be larger and longer than the regular Levorg in every aspect. It’s 15 mm longer, 25 mm wider and 70 mm taller than the standard model. The wheelbase is the same at 2,670 mm.
The grille of the Subaru Levorg Layback 2024 is designed wider than the standard Levorg and has a silver strip extending from the company logo to the headlights on both sides.Furthermore, there is discreet plastic cladding on the lower part of the bodywork and around the wheel arches, and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels shod in slightly beefier 225/55R18 all-season tires.
When purchasing the 2024 Subaru Levorg Layback, Japanese customers can personalize their car with exterior packages such as STI Aero Package, Premium Urban Package and Active Urban Package.
The Subaru Levorg Layback that will be available in the Japanese market will have a choice of 7 exterior body shades.
Inside, the Levorg Layback stays close to the regular Levorg/WRX it’s based on, but gets contrasting ash-colored trim on the dashboard, knee bolsters, and seats. It gets a 11.6-inch portrait style screen, the Starlink infotainment system, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon speaker system with USB Type A and Type C connectors, a conventional sunroof, and ambient interior lighting. In addition, it adopts Subaru’s first-ever first full LCD meter cluster that measure 12.3-inches.
As for safety, it comes equipped with Subaru EyeSight 4.0 with EyeSight Assist Monitor. The latter projects colored LED lighting onto the windshield letting the driver know the status of driving functions related to the EyeSight system.
Under the bonnet lies a familiar turbocharged 1.8-liter boxer engine producing 174 hp and 300 Nm of torque, as in the standard Levorg. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a CVT Lineatronic gearbox and Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD system
Subaru has not yet announced the price. Only accepting reservations Before the car hits showrooms at the end of 2023, it is unclear whether the model will be exported to other markets or not.
