New 2023 Toyota Corolla GR Sport – Compact Hatchback Interior and Exterior

the GR Sport trim level has proven extremely successful. It gives the Corolla a sportier profile and increases its attractiveness. To date, more than 20,000 copies have been sold. Inspired by the motorsport successes of Toyota Gazoo Racing, the GR Sport presents a more powerful look with unique design elements inside and out.

The updated version of the Corolla GR Sport features new design 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as a redesigned rear bumper and skid plate. The seats on the hatchback and estate variants have a new finish with an embossed GR logo in the headrest and a new micro-hexagon pattern in the silver pinstripes along the edges. The Gazoo Racing logo can also be found on the start button.

The revised Toyota Corolla will roll onto the German market at the end of January 2023.

The revised Corolla features the fifth generation of Toyota’s full hybrid system. As with the current model, 1.8 and 2.0 liter versions are available (combined fuel consumption 5.6-4.5 l/100km, CO 2 emissions 127-101 g/km, values ​​according to the WLTP test procedure, here it is the current Corolla). Both benefit from significant optimizations to the engine and electric motor, which offer more torque, more electric power, greater efficiency and more driving pleasure. The power control unit (PCU) and the transaxle motor have been revised, the lithium-ion battery is smaller, up to 18 kilograms lighter depending on the drive and even more powerful.

The total output of the 1.8-liter drive is 103 kW/140 hp, the sprint from zero to 100 km/h is possible in 9.2 seconds – 1.7 seconds faster than the predecessor. Despite this increase in performance, CO 2 emissions are expected to remain unchanged at 102 g/km. With the 2.0-liter system, the overall output increases to 144 kW/196 hp, and the sprint from a standing start to 100 km/h takes 7.5 seconds, almost half a second faster than before. A reduction of 3 g/km to 107 g/km is expected for CO 2 emissions

Each Corolla body style has its own unique look and appeal. Changes to the pattern of the radiator grille, the bezels of the fog lights and the design of the alloy wheels give the cars a more modern and elegant look for the new model year. Higher equipment lines of the hatchback and the Touring Sports station wagon get new bi-LED headlights, which are equipped with an adaptive high beam system (AHS) at the highest level.

There are also three new exterior colors to choose from, inspired by current trends in architecture, product design and fashion. The strong, eye-catching shade of Juniper Blue is the new trend color for hatchbacks and station wagons. A closer look reveals red undertones that create a special effect with subtle color changes. Available for both body styles, Metallic Gray is a timeless hue enhanced by dark silver flakes in the paintwork.

The interior is more modern and premium with new graphics, trim and embossed patterns. These give the upholstery, surfaces and finishes three-dimensional depth. Panels and seat covers follow the new theme “Dark and Light Harmony” with coordinated colors and surfaces and ensure an elegant ambience in the interior.

Toyota’s latest digital and multimedia features ensure an even better user experience in the Corolla. New functions and upgrades can be installed via over-the-air updates. The new 10.5-inch multimedia display shows high-resolution graphics and has an anti-glare screen that ensures the best view in all lighting conditions. Starting with the mid-level trim level, a new 12.3-inch instrument cluster is on board that offers four different modes for customization.
