Quick Look at the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla Circuit Edition!
The GR Corolla is officially here and i can already smell the insane dealer markups in the US! What is it? A totally rethought Corolla hatch taking the crown as the Focus RS, WRX STI and others have disappeared leaving the Golf R as the only AWD hot hatch.. and this may do it all better. The formula is similar to the GR Yaris, though not as extreme as changing the whole chassis: just welding chassis stiffening in, adding more power, a new sophisticated GR4 AWD system, manual gearbox, rally cross style looks. All the flared fenders, vents and aero are all functional. The circuit edition also gets a carbon fiber roof, vented hood and more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet: CONFIRMED: it has the same turbo 1.6L 3 cylinder as the GR Yaris though instead of making 257HP and 266 lb-ft of torque, it’s be pumping out around 300HP and 273 lb-ft of torque. This would be sent through a unique GR-4 AWD system and a 6 speed manual. Circuit edition pack model should get a Torsen mechanical locking diffs both in the front and rear axels. 🏁

This AWD system is very similar to a Subaru style system with a center multiplate clutch and various torque splits depending on the drive modes. In the GR Yaris, this AWD system defaults to a 60/40 split, in sport it goes to a 30/70 split and in track it is locked into a 50/50 split. We also have a limited slip differential. Inside gets some more sporty bits like faux suede, leather and more but it all works well! No pricing is out yet!
