The Corolla was designed in Belgium in a recently opened Design Center in Zaventem. Thanks to the introduction of the TNGA platform, the new Touring Sports station wagon is no longer just a variant of the hatchback model but a model in its own right.
With a wheelbase of 2700 mm, the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports station wagon has the most generous legroom in its class for rear passengers.
The appearance of the station wagon was distinguished by its refinement. At roof level, its profile combines elegance and robustness, sporting characteristics underlined by widened wheel housings which have made it possible to spread the wheels further apart, which contributes to the lowering of the center of gravity of the new model.
At the rear, muscular fenders, full LED taillights and a sloping rear window define the characteristic silhouette of the new Corolla station wagon.
Exclusive to this segment, the dynamic design of the Corolla Touring Sports station wagon can be declined in four two-tone colors: an option available from the launch of the model. These colors combine the body color with elements in black such as the roof, the pillars and the trim of the lower grille in the front.
Interior
The new Corolla Touring Sports estate has an entirely redesigned passenger compartment for a more modern, more coherent and above all more spacious space, in which new materials, colors and details contribute to superior optical and haptic qualities.
The version designed for the European market has been the subject of a special effort so that the customer fully realizes the high level of finishes.
One of the key benefits of the new platform is the ability to lower the position of the front seats to further improve the vehicle’s center of gravity. The driver then occupies a position in which he feels the road dynamics much better and derives increased driving comfort from it.
The new Corolla Touring Sports station wagon now features a particularly generous 928mm of space between the two rows of seats, which rear passengers will appreciate. As for the volume of the trunk, it is not left out: 598 l according to VDA standard. This is more than enough to provide freedom of movement and comfort to passengers, but also to transport their luggage on vacation, for leisure or simply on a daily basis.
The new Corolla station wagon is equipped with the famous MacPherson shock absorbers on the front axle and a new multi-link rear axle. Thanks to a never-before-seen damper servo technology, the new Corolla model features Adaptive Suspension (AVS) for the first time. A lower position of the engine and the seats as well as the installation of the hybrid battery at the level of the rear bench seat keep the center of gravity low, for further improved handling and road comfort.
Depending on the equipment version, the Toyota Corolla station wagon can be equipped with the first-ever 3D tachometer, a premium head-up display, a JBL GreenEdge Premium audio installation, a cable-free mobile phone charging station or the Toyota Touch multimedia system which provides information and entertainment to all vehicle occupants.
