This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid. Just announced, The Corolla Cross is based on the popular Corolla sedan and will be built at the Huntsville, Alabama plant. This facility has the capacity to roll out up to 150,000 Corolla Cross vehicles each year.
The Corolla Cross Hybrid has the fifth generation Toyota Hybrid system under the hood coupled with the electronic AWD system that’s new to the Corolla nameplate. With 194 horsepower and an 8.2 second 0-100 km/h time, the Corolla Cross Hybrid is an excellent option as gas prices continue to soar. It gets an impressive rating of 6.4L/100 km combined.
In Canada, this hybrid will be available in two trims, SE and XSE. The SE comes standard with 17” alloy wheels, an 8” touchscreen, a sport-tuned suspension, LED headlights and taillights, smart key access, heated front seats, privacy glass, roof rails, paddle shifters and blind-spot monitoring and rear-cross traffic alert.
The XSE trim is the Corolla Cross Hybrid’s sportiest trim and builds on the SE trim. It upgrades to 18” wheels, premium LED headlights, tail lamps and fog lamps, SofTex seats, a power driver’s seat and available moonroof.
For interior colour options, the base Hybrid will have black or grey cloth upholstery and the top trim SoftTex, Toyota’s leatherette in black or black/blue.
Exterior colour options include, four two-tone combinations with a black roof including silver, red, blue and Acidic Blast a new colour for 2023. Six colours are available without the black roof combo.
All Corolla Cross Hybrids come with Toyota’s new infotainment system, owners will experience a wide range of enhanced connectivity features including over the air updates, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto and dual blue tooth connectivity. The Corolla Cross Hybrid come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0
