If there’s one thing that can be counted on from Lexus, it’s that the brand doesn’t tend to step too far outside its self-prescribed box.

That’s not a bad thing. And frankly, there’s a lot of stepping far outside of boxes happening in the automotive industry these days. Lexus and its parent company Toyota have built a reputation on being reliable, conservative, and iterative, and that consistency has taken an unusual turn lately toward being a breath of fresh air.

This is demonstrated in the 2022 Lexus NX. While its competitors seemingly compete around it to have the flashiest styling and most futuristic tech, the second-generation NX arrives with just-right updates to its former pain points, tucked in among subtle design and quality finishes.
