My opinion on the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla

The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla comes in two versions, the Core and the Circuit, and I’m going to show you all the differences when we compare the two from a front, side and rear view.

It’s powered by a lightweight and very compact turbo-charged, direct injected three-cylinder engine that delivers an impressive 300 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque in this little car. It’s been engineered to optimize acceleration out of the corners with peak torque coming in at 3000-5500 rpm and max horsepower at 6500 rpm.

The power is then piped through a one of a kind triple exhaust that’s designed to reduce back pressure for maximum power delivery.

The engine is paired with Toyota’s rally developed GR-Four All-Wheel-Drive and what’s really cool about this system is that it gives the drivers a choice of 60-40, 50-50 or 30-70 power distribution to the front and rear wheels. Proper rally stuff!

And here’s one thing I love. The GR Corolla will only be offered in a manual transmission, which to me shows Toyota’s did not compromise with what they wanted to achieve with this model – to create a true drivers machine.

The GR Corolla will go on sale later in 2022 but there’s no pricing information yet. Hopefully it will land in the $30,000 range.

Now as I mentioned earlier, two versions of the GR Corolla will be offered – The Core and the more track focused, super cool looking Circuit Edition.
